One of infrastructure that is being developed by the Government of Indonesia to increase economic growth and social welfare of the community is highway infrastructure (toll roads) whose construction is realized through the National Strategic Project (PSN). The Cimanggis - Cibitung Toll Road Project is one of the National Strategic Projects in West Java Province with a length of 26,184 km. Land procurement for toll road development projects can disrupt environmental stability as well as the economic and social life of the community whose land is acquired.
This study aims to describe the impact of the construction of the Cimanggis - Cibitung Toll Road Section I on the social and economic conditions of the community in Jatikarya. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. This study shows that: 1) the positive impact on the community’s social condition is the significant reduction in traffic jams on Jalan Transyogi which increases the mobility & accessibility of the community; 2) the negative impact on the community’s social condition is that some people have lost neighbors as a result of land acquisition activities; 3) the positive impact on the community's economic conditions is the creation of new busy areas that increase the income of traders; 4) the negative impact on the community’s economic conditions is a decrease in the income of traders along Transyogi Road which has become quieter and an increase in illegal levies around the Transyogi Road area.
