A good planning document is a key to successful land procurement. Delay in land procurement for Karian Dam was caused by planning document that created not in accordance with statutory regulations. The goal of this research is to know how important it is the land procurement planning document in the preparation of land procurement for Karian Dam. Research was conducted using Qualitative Research Method with descriptive approach. Descriptive approach is a method to research an object, a set of conditions, a thought system, or a class of events in the present. The goal of descriptive research is to create description or illustration systematically, factually, and accurately in regards to facts, properties, and relations of the studied phenomenons.
The result of this research is, there are some contents in the planning document that were created not in accordance with Undang-Undang Nomor 2 Tahun 2012. The importance of planning document in the land procurement preparation stage in the Karian Dam project in 2016 in Lebak Regency was used as renewal requirement of location confirmation. Also, what included in the land procurement planning document of Karian Dam in 2016 as consideration in the extension/renewal of the confirmation of the next Karian Dam location.
