An increase in population growth in an area will increase the need for settlements, while locations that can be utilized for settlements are very limited. The limited location for settlements allows people to build settlements in locations that are not in accordance with their designation and have a high risk of disaster. To overcome this, choosing location for settlements based on an analysis of the suitability of the physical location and the arrangement of the regional spatial plans is needed to reduce the financial problems that involve the community building settlements at priority locations. Therefore, the study entitled "Location Suitability Analysis for Settlements in Ngargoyoso Subdistrict, Karanganyar Regency" aims to provide information on the suitability of locations in the context of housing selection in accordance with the priority of spatial allocation. The research method used in this study was quantitative research method with a spatial approach. The data collection was done by the method of map interpretation, document study and observation. The analysis technique used in this study was overlay / overlapping map analysis technique by weighing and scoring. The variables used in the analysis of the suitability of locations for settlements were slopes, drainage, erosion, land use, distance to roads, distance to important places and landslide hazard. These variables were weight, scored and overlaid resulting in class suitability for settlement information. The results of the analysis of the suitability of location classes for settlements, conditions of existing settlements and spatial designation according to the 2013-2032 Karanganyar District Spatial Plan were then used to obtain suitable locations and were vailable for settlements. As a result, suitable and available locations can be directed to become priority locations for settlements. The results of this study are the distribution of the suitability of locations for settlements. Class I Category (Suitable) covers an area of 1,782.77 Ha with a percentage of 28.99% of the total area. Class II category (Suitable-Conditional) covers an area of 2,387.16 Ha with a percentage of 38.83% of the total area. Class III (Unsuitable) category is 1,978.84 Ha with a percentage of 32.18% of the total area. In addition, based on the analysis of the availability of locations for settlements, the locations available for settlements cover an area of 1,151.65 Ha or 18.72% of the total area and are classified into two availability classes, which are Available I and Available II. Locations for settlements in Ngargoyoso Subdistrict can be prioritized in the Available I covering an area of 788.28 Ha or as much as 68.45% of the available locations. The location priority for the widest settlement is in Puntukrejo Village with an allocation of 148.19 Ha. Keyword: Settlement, Location Suitability, Location Availability |
