Land availability is the most important thing in infrastructure development. The government's effort to support the land availability is land acquisition. Land acquisition is regulated in Act Number 2 of 2012 and implementing regulations are regulated in Presidential Regulation Number 71 of 2012. According to Presidential Regulation Number 40 Year 2014, land acquisition is divided into two types large-scale areas of more than 5 hectares and small-scale areas of less than 5 hectares. Small-scale land acquisition regulated in Presidential Regulation Number 148 Year 2015 Article 121 paragraph (3) which does not require location determination.
Sleman Regency has conducted small-scale land acquisition with and without location determination. The purpose of this research was determined the implementation process as well as the strengths and weaknesses of small-scale land acquisition with and without location determination. This research used qualitative research methods with a descriptive approach. The results showed that the implementation of land acquisition with and without the determination of location is different and both of them have advantages and disadvantages.
