The intense of housing development which is not supported by land availability resulting in the change of land use namely from agriculture to non agriculture, which the effect caused by those activities are lack of agricultural production, change of social-economic and culture. The objective of this study was to discover the ecological impact generated by housing development at agricultural land. The ecological impact was reviewed from 3 aspects namely agriculture production, social-economic and culture.
This research was performed in Banyuraden village by using qualitative descriptive method. Data was collected by interview and documentary study and field observation. The data analysis technic to discover the agriculture production was by comparing between the residential area in Banyuraden village and agricultural productivity whereas for social-economic and culture was performed by collecting primary data by using interview guidance as reference, then data reduction was performed, followed by data presentation and drawing a conclusion as final stage.
Result obtained in this research was total housing area in Banyuraden village was 14,59 Ha resulting in loss of agricultural production in the amount of 1262,91 quintal of dried paddy. In connection with social-economic there was a change regarding farmers� livelihood so it was also affecting their income. Regarding culture, residents were tended to not socialize and participate in activities in the village, even though in fact the residents were homogenous formed by existing cultures. So the existence of the residents in Banyuraden village was influenced by culture attached in community.
This research provides contribution to Ministry of Agrarian and Spatial/National Land Agency in relation to agriculture production that can be an input in making consideration regarding technical of land use permit by noticing on agriculture land sustainability principles. Social-economic and culture can be made as reference to observe population characteristic, where this can be helpful for Community Empowerment Section to determine subjects and objects in asset legalization activity of UKM, agriculture and fishermen.
