Gajah Mungkur is a unit complex ecosystem that could potentially provide direct and indirect benefits for humans. Gajah Mungkur management policies need to consider the economic value of the region so that the implementation can be done in a comprehensive manner in the context of costs and benefits. Gajah Mungkur as the Tourism Site is one of benefits of it�s existence. This research aims to determine the attractiveness of tourism-related socio-economic characteristics of visitors in the area of Gajah Mungkur and direct use value that obtained through the travel cost method. This study is a research survey by using quantitative methods. Data were collected through interviews and document study. Samples were taken by using purposive sampling of 50 respondents. Data were analyzed through descriptive techniques and approaches travel cost method. Regional demand function has a number of visits dependent variable (V) and the independent variables consisting of the total cost of travel (X1), monthly income (X2), distance (X3), education level (X4). The appeal of Gajah Mungkur which attracted many visitors are scenery and culinary. Social and economic characteristics visitors based on age is 36-45 years, from areas within 31-50 km, male visitors comes as much as female visitors, most of them are in highschool education and works in private sectors.the most widely used vehicle are car and buses with the group of 2-10 people . Based on the regression calculation results shows that 52% of change variation visits can be explained by independent variables. Direct use region value calculated by demand function is Rp. 72.460.779.490,00. Direct use values calculated area by non-demand function (math) is Rp. 30.721.000.662,00. The results of this study is the economic valueinformation of Gajah Mungkur that can be used by the Wonogiri Land Office especially in the Mapping section as a second opinion to complete the availability of regions�s economic value in the district of Wonogiri.
