Land information Short Message Service (SMS) service with the access code �2409� is one of innovation service forms that demonstrates the commitment of Badan Pertanahan Nasional (BPN) to keep improving the forms of service quality. Currently in fact the existence of land information services which are still limited in using the SMS facilities on mobile phone by typing the certain text format or sms syntax which is sent using the access code �2409� do not fulfill the people�s wishes to ease the access of land information. Therefore, the study of land information application development based on android is necessary so that the people can access the service easily and quickly.
This study applies the Research and Development (R&D) method with the experimental approach. The application development needs the data which are obtained from the interviews, document studies, and observations, so the user needs analysis to get the system needs specification is obtained. The development of the land service application in android basis uses the developing tool softwares, those are Eclipse, Android Development Tools (ADT), Android SDK (Software Development Kit) and Java Development Kit (JDK).
The developed land information application can provide the document information service by inputting the document number and the PIN. Besides, it also provides the cost information (measurement cost, entitlement cost, recognition cost, and transition cost) and the complaint service. After that, there is also the menu of land office location which can show the position of the office, the location of the service users, and show the route from the users possition to go to the land office and as well as giving the travel guide or navigation.
